Dr Zain Kapasi
Gender: Male
Primary qualifications: BSc (Hons), MBChB (Glasgow 2002), MRCGP, LMCA BSLM, GP Trainer
Special interests: Lifestyle Medicine, Mental Health, Musculoskeletal Medicine and Joint Injections
Dr Kapasi joined the Practice in 2011. He previously dabbled in various specialities including General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and A&E before finally settling down in General Practice. He trained mainly in the Greater Glasgow area but has also lived and worked in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia.
He is a certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner and enjoys seeing the benefits it brings to patients, often without the need for more medications. He also has interests in Mental Health (or “Brain Health” as he prefers to call it), Musculoskeletal Medicine and Joint Injections. He posts regular health and wellbeing videos on YouTube as “Doctor Doodle Dad” and "Dr Zain Explains".
He lives East Lothian and has found it to be far drier than his West Coast upbringing. He pretends to be a Triathlete and has completed many endurance events including marathons, ultramarathons and Ironmans. What little spare time he has is spent doodling for mindfulness, reading, writing poetry and filming YouTube videos. He’s currently trying to learn Danish and Italian!
