Appointments

How to book

The Health Centre is open from 08.00 until 18.00 Monday – Friday.
To make an appointment telephone 01875 810736

Patients are free to consult any available doctor. However, if you wish to see a particular doctor you may need to wait a little longer for an appointment.

GP consultation appointments are 15 minutes from one patient to the next. This includes background reading before you enter and documenting the consultation afterwards. If you have multiple problems to discuss, we may not be able to deal with all of these safely in a single appointment. Please consider if a double appointment is needed. The clinician may suggest you return for a separate appointment for non-urgent matters so there is appropriate time available to you.

Chaperones

If you would like to have a chaperone present during your examination, we can arrange this for you. Please let a staff member know when booking your appointment. A chaperone is another healthcare professional who will be present for your reassurance during an examination. Most often this would be at the time of an intimate examination. Your clinician may recommend this for you. During your consultation, if you would like a chaperone, please let the GP or nurse know.

Non-urgent advice: COVID-19 Notice

We are now starting to see most patients face to face. If you have Covid symptoms, you will be offered a call back in the instance. If you then need examined the doctor will arrange a suitable face to face appointment where full PPE will be worn by the doctor.

Approximately 50% are available on the day for people with new or urgent problems; these may be with any doctor depending on availability. The other 50% are pre-bookable for those who need follow-up appointments or wish to see a specific doctor who need to pre-arrange a time in advance.

Home Visits

Tel: 01875 810736

Please telephone before 10.00 for home visits, if possible.

Home visits are for patients who are too ill or frail to attend the surgery. Please try to telephone before 10.00  if you require a visit the same day. It is not always possible for any one particular doctor to make the visit.

Please remember that house calls are time-consuming and that doctors will usually be able to provide a more comprehensive service at a surgery consultation.
